Bodhi Manda Zen Center is located in the town of Jemez Springs, approximately 60 miles north of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Visitors to the Center include volunteers, tourists interested in the hot springs, groups renting the facilities for their retreats, work-exchange participants through programs like WWOOF, people just beginning to explore Buddhism, longer-term students and experienced Zen practitioners.

We welcome all, though the Center is closed to the public for certain portions of the year. Our calendar of events provides a guide to specific activities, and our general schedule is as follows:

  • The Center’s daily hours of operation are Wednesday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • The Center is closed on Monday and Tuesday.
  • Spring (April, May) & Fall (October, November): Our guesthouse is not opened to the public during this time due to monastic training. Daily practice, monthly Zazenkai, full moon meditation and the 7-day meditation retreat take place as usual.
  • Rest of the year: The guesthouse is opened to the public and the facility is available for other groups to rent for their events. Daily practice, monthly Zazenkai, full moon meditation and the 7-day meditation retreat take place as usual.
