Below is a photograph of original calligraphy on a four-foot scroll that was recently donated to the Bodhi Manda Zen Center by the Toen-ji Temple in Japan in honor of Joshu Roshi’s 50 years of teaching in the United States. The artist, Joten Soko, was Joshu Roshi’s second teacher. The main calligraphy translates to “Silence.”
As 2012 surrenders to 2013 we wish you and your family inner silence and peace of mind.
