Despite a cold day disrupting a springtime gathering at the Bodhi Manda Zen Center on April 1, explorers with EarthWalks, Natives of the Pueblo of Jemez, members of the Jemez Springs community, visitors from afar, and the Center’s residents and volunteer farmers (WWOOFers) still came together to share their stories, wisdom, hopes and plans.
The community meeting included prayers, a musical jam session, flute playing, an overview of the Native community’s activities, an update on the Center’s garden and a delicious lunch.
The events that were canceled due to the weather — including a seed planting, a balloon release and a butterfly pollination dance — will be rescheduled for a later date. If you couldn’t make this gathering, please join us next spring. The communities will get together again to meet, share and celebrate. We hope to see you there!
